Here's the lowdown on Six Flags Magic Mountain hotels
There aren't very many hotels in the immediate vicinity of Magic Mountain. Six Flags Magic Mountain doesn't have its own resort hotel on the park grounds, and there are only a few---fairly expensive---hotels in the nearby small town of Valencia. Bear in mind that you could possibly stay elsewhere in the San Fernando valley of Los Angeles, drive 30 minutes to Magic Mountain, and save money. Because you'd be heading NORTHWARDS to the park in the morning----and rush hour traffic would be headed SOUTHWARDS towards downtown LA---you wouldn't be in a traffic-jam mess if you stay a bit farther away from the park.A note about Magic Mountain-area hotel rates: On this page, you'll see rate quotes for OFF-SEASON prices. If a rate is quoted here, it's because I personally did see the rate mentioned at the hotel's own website during Spring 2008. High-season rates will be more expensive. You will not find the rates to be as forgiving as in Orange County around Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. In Orange County, a mighty hotel/motel surge sprung up around the theme parks to serve their many visitors. During the off-season, particularly, Anaheim & Buena Park room rates drop as hotels scramble to fill up the many rooms. This glut of hotel rooms never came about in Valencia; and you'll pay more (especially during the summer busy season) because you're competing for a limited amount of room space against all the other visitors to 6 Flags!
Note: the nearest "less expensive" hotel to Six Flags Magic Mountain is the Good Nite Inn in Sylmar, California. Rates here will run $49 to $99, depending on the season...and how busy Six Flags Magic Mountain is expected to be!

The Best Western Valencia Inn: Less than 1 mile distant from the theme park, the Best Western Inn is the 2nd closest hotel to Magic Mountain. The Best Western chain is noted for well-appointed comfort, but isn't a "luxury brand" like the Hilton hotels. As such, you'll pay a little less here...although not as much less as you might imagine. Pet lovers will like this hotel because (with an extra fee) pets are welcome here!Best Western Valencia's rates: Off-season rates on the internet for this hotel begin at $89. Summer and holiday rates will be higher.

The Holiday Inn Express Santa Clarita: This hotel sits adjacent to the Best Western Inn, discussed above...so it ties as the 2nd-closest hotel to Six Flags Magic Mountain. This hotel is newer than the Best Western Inn, so has a sharper presentation. On the other hand, you'll also pay more to stay here than you will at the adjacent Best Western hotel.

The Hyatt--Valencia: Located just under 2 miles from the park, the Hyatt Valencia is also close to a major attraction---it's right across the street from the Valencia Town Center mall. What a great location for shopaholics! Kids will love the Valencia Town Center's Build A Bear Workshop, the Sanrio (Hello Kitty!) shop and beautiful carousel. The family will love taking in a movie at the Valencia Town Center's beautiful Edwards theater, and choosing from among the many restaurants and snack shops.The Hyatt hotels are noted for luxury, and upscale visitors won't be disappointed with the grand public areas and the well-appointed rooms. The Hyatt's luxurious look increases the price of your hotel stay here, however.

Residence Inn by Marriott--Valencia: This hotel is located 3 miles from the park near shopping and restaurants. This all-suite hotel is a comfortable place to lodge. Off-season rates run around $189 per night at this Residence Inn location, but if you have a discount plan (such as AAA) you can get a room off-season for around $159. Pets are allowed, but with a hefty deposit.Amenities at the Residence Inn include--
