The Orange County CA Airport (John Wayne)

John Wayne Statue The Orange County CA airport is named "John Wayne," (after the famous actor,) and if you're headed to Southern California, it's a good idea to consider flying into it.

When most people think of Los Angeles airports, they think of the "big gun"---Los Angeles International (LAX.) The little Orange County, CA airport doesn't even get a thought!

I used to be an "LAX-only" flyer. I felt suspicious, and didn't know if the "little guy" could get the job done as well..

And THEN, I actually tried USING the John Wayne airport. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! It had every amenity that I wanted!

The Amenities of John Wayne Airport include the following---

  • Modern buildings with close parking

  • A good selection of air carriers--the major domestic airlines that I need. (Leaving the airport without all the congestion that's added by the many international airlines which LAX has...but that I NEVER need.)

  • No chance whatsoever of getting lost in the airport (The airport SAYS that it has 2 terminals...but they're both small AND they're joined together with a short walkway. You can't really tell that the airport is actually made up of 2 different buildings...it LOOKS like only one.)

  • Much shorter lines than at LAX (Both at check-in and at the security check point.)

  • Great short-term parking rates---only $2 an hour

I was "sold"! From the very first time I tried a flight out of the John Wayne airport, I decided to use LAX only if I just HAD to. But, I rarely have to go elsewhere. For my domestic flying needs in this area, the Orange County CA airport handles it all!

But, will YOU want to try flying into the Orange County CA airport? If your destination is in Orange County, you should definitely consider it.
